Sunderland PointStarting from Lancaster Park & Ride at M6 J34 at 09:15 for 09:30. 38 miles Easy . Sunderland Point 38 miles Meeting Point: Lancaster Park & Ride at M6 J34 https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/public-transport/park-and-ride/lancaster-park-and-ride/ Route: The route heads North, paralleling the M6 through Nether Kellet and to Carnforth where it then heads around the Leighton Estate via Warton and Yealand to the RSPB reserve for coffee (12 miles). After the stop the route mainly hugs the coast heading South to Heysham via Morecambe with lunch by the Heysham Cricket Club (25 miles) with a couple of cafes to choose from. After lunch the route continues South through Heysham (not pretty!) down to Overton. Tide depending, we'll then head to Sunderland point before doubling back on ourselves and then follow the Lune through Lancaster back to the M6. The route is 50km (32 miles) leaving Charlbury and heading south to Witney before returning to Charlbury via Minster Lovell Hall. Most of the roads are quiet although it gets a little busier around Witney. We may stop for coffee/cake in Eynsham (19km, 12 mi) and there are plenty of options available in Witney (31km, 19mi). There is 460m (1,550ft) of climbing primarily at the beginning and end with a few short, sharp hills amongst them - it is the Cotswolds after all.

For September, we are going from one end of our area to the other with a ride from Audlem to Wrenbury. We are also venturing indoors for the first time this year for our lunch stop. Lunch has been booked at the Dusty Miller pub in Wrenbury. It is a venue we have used before and they made us very welcome so hopefully this time will be just as good. Remember to bring a facemask for when we are entering and leaving the venue. As we need to let the pub know how large the group will be, it is imperative you let us know in advance that you will be joining the ride. We will be sending out a menu shortly for you to pre-order your meal. Once the meals have been ordered it will be very difficult to cancel the booking so we will be adopting our previous policy that in the event the ride is cancelled due to poor weather, we will still all meet at the Dusty Miller for lunch and a catch up at 12.30.
