Meeting Point: Scorton Picnic Area - accessible either via J32 or J33 off the M6. Parking is free and there are no restrictions.
Route: Heading east from the start point for a long climb up the back of the Trough, worthwhile for the magnificent views before dropping down between Whins Brow and Top of Blaze Moss to Dunsop Bridge, this will be 'exhilarating' as it touches 25% gradient. Coffee at Puddleducks (12 miles).
After coffee the route continues east to Newton where it turns south for Waddington Fell which provides a further 2.5 miles of glorious ascent. The good news is that once at the top, its 2.5 miles of downhill with great views of Waddington, Clitheroe and Pendle Hill. Waddington for lunch.
From Chipping it’s toward Barton then head north and parallel the M6 back to Scorton.
Stats: 44 miles, 3200 ft climbing, the vast majority of which is in the first 20 miles
