The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley
The 2025 Easter rally will be based at Greenacres Campsite, Coleford, in the Forest of Dean which nestles between the Wye Valley, the Vale of Leadon and the Severn Vale. Its relative isolation and hilly terrain have helped preserve the pattern of land use. The Royal Forest occupies an area of 204 square miles in the western part of Gloucestershire. The 20 million trees that cover the Royal Forest of Dean include oak, beech, ash, birch and holly trees. People who live in and around the Forest are known as Foresters.
The Royal Forest of Dean is also home to Clearwell Caves. A unique iron mining museum that has an impressive system of underground caverns that date back to the beginning of the bronze age.
The Forest is home to Puzzle Wood which contains pre-Roman open cast iron workings and a maze covering 14 acres of pathways and rock ravines, with secret passages and hidden doorways."
Rally Site
Greenacres Campsite is a family and dog friendly campsite. There are 54 pitches - 15 hardstanding and 39 grass. All pitches have a 16A electric hook-up. We ask that the hardstandings are used by people with larger motorhomes. The electricity is metered, so you pay for usage.
The site has a modern heated shower block with disabled/family shower room including baby changing and bath. There is a washing up area and laundry.
There is an on site shop selling essentials, snacks (such as breakfast baps, baguettes, pizza, burgers, chips, cakes) and drinks including Barista style coffee.
There are 2 storage containers on site which can be used for tandem storage (locked and alarmed).
See the website for full information and pictures of the campsite: Greenacres Campsite
The campsite has kindly agreed that people based off-site may visit the campsite free of charge, but they do need to check-in at Reception on arrival.

Alternative Accommodation
St. Briavels Castle Youth Hostel is 5.9 miles from the site at St. Briavels. Plus there are guest houses, hotels, B&B's, more campsites (cabins and yurts) all a short distance to the rally site. Being Easter they may need to be booked early.
Rides
A choice of 8 rides will be available, ranging from 22 to 45 miles. These explore the Forest of Dean, Wye Valley, Severnside and venture into Wales.
For those that have not yet attended a Tandem Club rally, we do not go out as a large group. Instead we tend to set off in small groups, so that we do not swamp the local roads. Each rally attendee is expected to bring their own printed copy of the route instructions / gpx track files. These will be published to those booked on the rally about 1 month before the start of the rally.
