Details of all the rides are available on the rally page on the Tandem Club Website. These are available on the bespoke Rides database. For each ride there is a great description of the ride. To each I have been through them and added an icon for each od the cafe stops and attractions listed. If you click on these icons there are further details, a picture, a description, address and website so you can plan. (I have put over 10.000 of these countrywide now) You can download a GPX and/or a TCX file. If you look further down the ride there is a list of things that you pass along the way and you can filter these to with 0.5/2/5 or 10km. Further down you can even download a PDF with a map and a list of things you will pass in the order that you ride, yes this is a fabulous thing. Over the past 4 years, I have added over 1500 rides to the system, for example published rides where I have added loads of resources provided by local authorities. It's there for all members and is improving all the time. Finally if you look at the map there is a button like a target under the S. This locates you on the tandem, therefore you can see which icon is closest to you and allows you navigate to that fabulous pub/tearoom detailed in the instructions. Please give it a go

NB On this ride East Very Short 1365 E_VS_22m_Family_Cycle_Trail_Tour_de_Foret there is a deep rut across the track inside the first mile ...you descend a broken tarmac path through an avenue trees..scrub speed off before the bottom...it is rideable.

Rides has a function that makes this resource better than STRAVA, ridewithGPS, CycleTravel etc. If you open each ride and scroll to the bottom, you can view and print out/save the places of interest that you will pass in the order that you ride past. What it does is pick up each icon (place of interest) from the line of the GPX and list it in the order that you pass. It's not 100% perfect, sometimes you have to set it at 'show within 2km' to make sure. Once that is done, press the download PDF and you'll get the map and the information for each place of interest. I'm at the event, so happy to take you through this.

If you are venturing out on Ross on Wye ride there is a newly opened cafe to visit at w3w ///norms.lifeguard.sensible coffee, hot food and cakes all delicious and run by the same people as at Paddles featured earlier.

Saturday 19th AGM at the Main Place Coleford (w3w ///radar.examine.promoting) Doors Open 4.30pm for 5pm Start. Please bring with you a knife and fork for your Chippy Meal Which will be delivered in boxes at 6.45pm. Followed by a Quiz in Teams of 6 and ideally please bring a pen(s).

The Main Place is located by the Coleford Cycletrack at the far end of Station Car Park and is also the Town Library. Cycle Parking is available please bring your lock. It is adjacent to the GWR Railway Museum and close to Lidl if travelling by car. NB Lights if staying for the Quiz..

Phil reminds us to bring a glass/drinking vessel for the Quiz as there are only a limited number of plastic glasses available.

For the AGM, I will bring red wine, white wine (1 glass per person), sparkling water, ornagd juice, apple juice, tea, coffe semi skimmed milk. Feel free to bring extra drinks if you wish.

Sadly due to building work at the Bowling Club being extended and the weather...it is unlikely their Club bar will be open this Easter 😢

Has anyone else checked their meter charges for electric at the campsite. Mine was 23.04Kwh for 1 day (18th). Only charging batteries, around 20 Mins induction hob, 3 hrs electric heating (1.8Kw per hour at max). Definitely something not right with electric metering. I was an industrial electrician so know something of electrical things.

AGM if travelling by car there is a small car park at the Main Place otherwise the Station Car Park is 80m away and big! First hour free with a ticket and I believe free after 6pm but check the notices

Yesterday I had a medical moment that required me to go to A&E in Gloucester, a 50 minute drive. I would like to thank Maureen the campground owner for driving me there and Phil Harmer for bringing me back. With all the negative news about, it is good to know that at the heart of society there are still plenty of caring people.

Please be mindful today when you depart that the whole of Coleford town centre is closed for the Transport festival including the main Station car park..safe journeys home

Final appeal for pictures. With a very heavy cold, I couldn't come and the rides look great. I have managed to find a few pictures on facebook and have filled the Tintern Ride. The Tandem Clubs Easter event for 2026 is now live and can be booked.
