Taunton: June 2026 Ride
Saturday 20 June 2026. Starting from Chantry Field Car Park, Gillingham SP8 4UA. There is a cafe and toilets in Waitrose which adjoins the car park. It is £4.20 for up to 10 hours parking payable by cash, card or phone. at 11:00. 28 miles.

We ride 18 miles to Compton Abbas airfield for our lunch stop. We will probably stop in Semley to ease our legs and have a stretch. The Bennet Arms opens at 1200 if we want a drink or the loo.
It is a hilly ride to the airfield so be prepared with a nice low gear.

After lunch at the airfield we drop down to Fontmell Magna and then have rolling lanes back. There is a pub in  East Stour where we can stop for a drink if we want to.

Another 5 miles from East Stour brings us back to Gillingham.
