Help needed on bikes history

Hello All,

I have a lovely vintage tandem, which our family has enjoyed for many years. Its been perfect for us as adults and our daughter could use it, due to the Brompton style long seat posts. It's also has a smaller length, so easy to store. 
I was keen to understand if anyone knew its history? I did find a thread online years ago, however this has since disappeared.

I think it might be a concept bike from the 70s.
