LF ZUIDERZEEROUTE

Just completed the Zuiderzeeroute and thought I would inform the club that the AFSLUIDIJK is closed to cyclist but there is a bus crossing specifically to take cyclists. The website states any cycle over 1.9 mtrs. will not be allowed to use the bus and will need to give 48 hrs advance notice to facilitate an alternate crossing. We crossed with our tandem and so did 3 others whilst we were there. I think the bus drivers just ignore the ruling and let you on if there is room. We turned up at the stop and split our tandem using the couplers but the other local tandem users just got on fully loaded with no problems. Great route enjoyed it and thought the information may assist if you wish to do it. A 3 piece map set and guide is also available and well worth ordering.
