Anyone doing long ride to Belvoir Castle Monday? That’s the East Route. We would love to chum up. Keith and Lai, pitch 76

Keith and Lai Russell have offered to organise and lead a ride:

Saturday 22nd October 2022

“Round the Bridges” - a 45+ mile anti-clockwise circular ride round the Forth, crossing the Forth Road Bridge and Kincardine Bridge. Mostly on quiet roads, cycle lanes but some sections off-road on compacted gravel or forest tracks.

Route - Start South Queensferry (Forth Bridge Visitors Centre Car Park) - Forth Road Bridge - Rosyth - Culross - Kincardine Bridge - Skinflats - Kelpies (lunch stop) - Grangemouth - Bo’ness (via Kinneil Estate) - Blackness - Hopetoun Estate - South Queensferry.

Note: there are some rougher sections on this route. There are also two awkward gates to negotiate in the Hopetoun Estate.

Gather 9:30am for prompt 10am start.

Other riders free to join the group en route eg Limekilns, Kincardine

Lunch at the Kelpies (where there are food outlets) but packed lunches may be preferable.

Finish approx 4-5pm

Nice cafe stops at Limekilns, Culross and Blackness.
