This page of ideas was built from the experience of a myriad of cyclecampers, we hope you enjoy their tips
In and around the stoveCarry a square of plumbers flameproof cloth to stand your stove on. It will stop you scorching the grass https://www.screwfix.com/p/essentials-soldering-drip-mat-240mm-x-240mm/47672
Cooking Utensils
Some carry just a penknife and spork, others take the kitchen sink, this may give you a few ideas
Small Sharp Knife
Spork
Cut-down wooden spoon
Foldable Spoons
A bamboo spoon from a child’s cutlery set, perfect for stirring food in an anodised cooking pot ( no scratching) and small enough to pack in a nesting set, but big enough to be useful.
Drink
Coffee filter, collapsible silicone one for paper filters.
For those who want proper coffee (almost as good as a moka pot) but without the weight of such or similar tech. NB I am not fussy when camping so it gets used at home (I originally bought it to use with loose Tea, but that was a total fail....). https://speedsterstoves.co.uk/burners/individual-reusable-coffee-filter.html
Lighting your Stove
Piezo stove lighters are useful. Ones made by MSR reported as reliable
Pots and Pans
I’d recommend a set of British army mess tins
Preparation
Chopping Board (cut a plastic one in half) or a plastic diary cover that's now recycled
I have a folding chopping board, very thin plastic about A4 size which folds into 3, had it years and is great for preparing any food
Rubbish
Coffee or cereal bag(tough smallish bag) to use a rubbish bag
Storage
Old spectacle cases and plastic pencil cases, make useful storage receptacles for small items
Clip its/elastic bands to reseal packets. One cyclist cuts old inner tubes as elastic bands
Set of film canisters in which I keep a ‘spice rack’ with salt/pepper/curry powder/sugar etc. Also good for tea leaves or coffee if you are just going overnight. You can get them at any camera store that develops film (they are essentially a waste product so they are more than happy to give them away for free in my experience).
Washing up
My top tip for avoidance of washing up is to eat all meals from ziplock bags then just wipe utensils with a hygienic wipe.
A sink plug ( particularly useful in France) where camping site pot washes often are plug less to avoid flooding.
A large micropore cloth makes an excellent towel. You could spend even more money and buy exactly that sold as a towel in places like Mountain Warehouse.
This style of silicone scraper avoids carrying damp scourers: https://gsioutdoors.com/products/compact-scraper If you can't find the GSI scraper, you can make one by cutting the end off a silicone spatula
