Electric pump - any recommendations?

Mik Bedson2026-05-03 12:42:39
Had a puncture yesterday which we fixed on the road.  However, pumping the tyre back up to 55 PSI with our small hand pump was a real challenge - in the end a friendly motorist let us use his electric pump.
can anyone recommend a good electric pump that we can easily carry while touring? Worried there are are lot of cheap and probably useless ones on the market!

Not sure about electric ( always concerned the battery will be flat when I need it) but the Lezyne micro track pump is excellent, weighs just 190g and was more than enough to pump up our rear tyre (Schwalbe 35mm) to 70 psi three times in one day on a wet day on the wild Atlantic way in Ireland when we had multiple flats!

The Lezyne pump is an excellent product, it is like a mini floor pump and is capable of getting tyres to the correct inflation. You still have to pump, but it's much easier to use than a straight hand pump. I've got two of them and can't fault them. Alternatively try looking on Adventure Bike web site, for motorbikes. They sell a neat looking re-chargeable electric pump called the RokiT Tyre Inflator. Not tried it myself, but looks handy.

Forgot to say the Lezyne model is is the Micro Floor Drive HDG. Merlin cycles have them in.
