Arai brake shoe relining
Hello everyone, I have just found and joined your fascinating forum.
We have just acquired a Motobecane tandem from about 1980. It has been sitting outside under cover for many years but is still in pretty good condition. I have replaced all the cables, the rear chain, handlebar tape etc.
The wife and I went out for a run on saturday which involved a lot of shouting from the rear seat! Brake, brake, freewheel etc. On one descent I tried the Arai hub brake and it wouldn't release after use. I managed to free it off a bit but when we got home I discovered the brake linings had parted company with the shoes. After a bit of research it seems impossible to find new shoes so can anyone recommend someone to reline the original shoes?
Thanks,
Stuart

Hello Stuart,
I have (somewhere in the garage) a new unused entire Arai Hub brake with fittings.
Make me a reasonable offer and I could send it to you.
all the best.

Thanks Paul but I've sent off my shoes to be relined.
I'm sure someone will be looking for a hub brake sooner or later.
