For Sale: Thorn Discovery tandem

Thorn Discovery tandem, size M-M, perfect for pilots 5'6" to 5'10", and for stokers 5'2" to 5'6", although it can readily adjust to fit taller and shorter riders. The M-M is a great all round size, and its sensible to get a slightly smaller sized tandem when compared to solo bikes. This frame is very strong with the additional down tube, and is designed with a longer space for the stoker than many tandems - providing better visibility and a very comfortable touring set up. In 531 throughout the tandem is bullet-proof, very stable and with the 26" wheel / tyre combination is ideally suited to fast day rides and touring. Plenty of additional fixing points for racks, bottle cages etc.

The bike is fitted with 26" Rhyno rims with Shimano XT tandem hubs (threaded for a drag brake), Deore LX brakes and derailleurs, Stronglight headset, stoker's suspension seatpost,  Shimano drive train with 46-36-24, and 12-32 eight speed cassette for a great climbing set up. Recently fitted with new Esge mudguards, front GP3 grips, rear GP2 grips, Schwalbe marathon supreme tyres, and new brake blocks.

Lovely classic Thorn cobalt blue, there are various small honest chips / odd wear marks, some of which have surface-rusted, earned from use and general storage, but it's had very light use, and overall it's in very good condition and provides a thoroughly enjoyable, steady and reliable ride. 

Currently fitted with Shimano PD520 front pedals only.
