For Sale: Thorn Raven Double Marathon Rohloff 14 Speed Hub Gear S&S Couplings

This is the supreme touring tandem. Bought in 2008, this tandem is still 100% in service after 16 years regular use both as a main form of transport and a fully laden camp touring beast. M/M sizing, its current crew were 5' 7" and the frame is suitable for riders 5' 7" and above (Max about 6'?) The Rohloff hub was reconditioned in 2017 (reported nothing to service) and has had annual oil change (most recently August 2024). Other servicing in preparation for sale includes full cable replacement, headset service, Rohloff gear shift replacement and new handlebar grips/tape. This bike is ready for its next great adventure! XTR V Brakes with Carbide rims and Swisstop 'blue' brake pads give extraordinary durability and impressive braking performance even fully loaded for touring on steep descents (tried and tested on the Mont Vontoux!) The Rohloff is disc brake compatible but never found to be necessary. S+S couplings allow the frame to split for transport by train or car. Some paint chips (all treated with Racing Green paint). I've photographed the worst. Others are very minor. I put on some old seats as I expect the new owner will choose their preference for these personal items!
