The Event



This year's Family Camping Weekend will be based at Polstead Camping and Caravanning Club Site, Holt Road, Polstead, Suffolk, CO6 5BZ www.polsteadtouring.com

Everyone, including members of the Camping and Caravanning Club, must book their pitches directly with the campsite. Tel: 01787 211969 (Leave a message if the Answerphone is on) or email . Please tell them you are booking on the Tandem Club weekend so that they can allocate pitches together.



Polstead lies on the edge of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Stour Valley Project. The typical lowland English countryside depicted by painters such as Constable, Gainsborough and Munnings can still be recognised. Flatford Mill and Willy Lott's Cottage are less than ten miles away.





Rides



Rides will be suitable for families along the lanes and byways which are ideal for cycling.
Saturday's ride will visit the beautiful medieval town of Lavenham where you can stroll amongst the Tudor townhouses, the splendid 16th century guildhall which contains a local history exhibition, the magnificent 'Wool Church' of St. Peter St. Paul which has one of the tallest towers in East Anglia, antique shops and art galleries including the famous Crooked house or just wind down over a relaxing cup of tea and cake of course.

On Sunday's short ride we shall be visiting Flatford Mill to see the site of Constable's 'Haywain'. Rowing boats can be hired here. There is also the Riverside Tea Rooms next door to Bridge Cottage where you can participate in more cake.

The routes will be passing plenty of village playgrounds.
