If you are interested in learning some Welsh have a look at this BBC Wales web page.
Bangor is one of the six cities of Wales and the smallest. A university town with some ten thousand students. It lies on the North West coast of Wales with the island of Anglesey just across the Menai Straits accessed by the Menai Suspension Bridge. The bridge, designed by Thomas Telford, was completed in 1826.
The campsite lies between the Britannia and Menai Suspension bridges close to routes 5, 8 and 85 of the National Cycle Network and is only a short distance from the Snowdonia National park.
Adjacent to the campsite is the Treborth Botanic Garden owned by Bangor University and open to the public. It forms a useful back entrance to the campsite.
The Campsite
Treborth Leisure is not just a campsite but a complex including holiday cottages, a golf course, golf driving range and a fishing lake. We have the use of their Rally Field where we can set up all the usual facilities for our National rally.
Accommodation
Camping in the Rally field for those who do not need electricity plus electric pitches on the main site. All 22 Electric pitches have been booked. There are also local B&Bs. and a Premier Inn about one mile away. There has been a great deal of interest in the Holiday cottages shown on Treborth's website but most are let on long term so will probably not be available.
Please note: Our arrangement with Treborth is only for the Rally period. Additional nights before and after the rally must be booked with them. Tel. Maresa or Jane on 01248 364399.
Entertainment
We have the usual set of evening activities starting with a welcome party on the opening Saturday and ending with a picnic and Hog Roast on the final Friday. For the picnic you have the choice of paying for the Hog Roast or bringing your own picnic or portable barbecue. The hog roast includes apple sauce, stuffing and a bun.
Walks and alternative rides in the area
These suggestions are to give you alternatives to the rides that have detailed route sheets perhaps for an early or late staying visitor or for your chosen ‘rest’ day! These are listed along with the Route Information.

Translation:
Welcome to Wales. A stunning complex in beautiful surroundings. Over two thirds of the people in Gwynedd speak Welsh but don't worry the rest of the rally details will be in English.
