George Longstaff was one of the greats of tandem building.  This model was made in 1993. We are its fourth owner.

Sizes centres to top of seatposts: captain 65cm; stoker 52cm.  Suitable for a 6'-6'5" captain and stoker around 5'2"-5'7".

Wheels: Mavic 700c, 48 spoke, Shimano Deore hubs, Schwalbe Marathon tyres.  Includes spare wheel with hub (drag) brake fitted.

Brakes: Front: V-brake; Rear: sidepull rim brake, Shimano cantilever brake and hub (drag) brake.  Hub and sidepull brakes operated by stoker.

I have converted the front stem from quill to A-head and fitted new bars front and rear (not shown in photo).  All the original parts from when we bought the bike 3 years ago are included in the sale if you want to change it back to make it more "original". 

Transmission: all new set-up with Stronglight triple chainset, new 6-speed rear block, new chain and 2 new bottom brackets. Semi-indexed gear levers on front downtube. (Original Campagnolo drive train available).

Front and rear racks (front rack not in pic).  Includes a roof rack. Full length mudguards. Cateye computer. 

There are some minor scuff marks in a few places but the paintwork is all sound with no exposed metal. Attention to detail is superb as expected on a Longstaff frame with decals and inlays in gold paint which look very smart against the burgundy metallic finish.

Always stored dry in the garage.  

When riding the tandem has a beautiful long-legged feel. The marathon frame and forks soak up the bumps well.
