26 Teams entered.

  • 94 Units attended the rally – 28% take up, at least, as some teams were more than one unit.
  • 4 teams of half bikes entered.
  • 2 DNF who did not return!
  • 3 DNFs who were beyond time limit but scored on basis of an additional 8 points per minute time penalty beyond 7 hours.
  • Two entries “married”, ie decided to become one entry (17 and 18)
  • One entry of two tandems divorced, entry 3, – with one half giving up!  

 

50 Checkpoints spread in an area up to a 17 mile radius from rally site

  • 10 points for each mile from rally site
    • One checkpoint, VT50, valued at 170 points
  • All checkpoints had at least 1 visit
  • VT50 had 2 visits.
  • Most popular checkpoints (VT12 and VT16) had 19 visits each
  • 16 teams visited checkpoints on the Stratford Greenway

 

Starts allowed between 8 and 11

  • Earliest start 9:10
  • 19 starts between 10 and 11

 

Apologies for getting VT03 wrong – it looked like a duckling to me, and the image remained.  As pointed out by the first returners who had visited it, it was a heart!  No one was penalised as a consequence.

 

Questions were answered with an overall accuracy of 95%

  • Based upon checkpoints visits max total achievable 24660
  • Total of all points awarded 23465

 

Feedback from teams:

  • We did not get the usual seeing people on the road passing us or we passed them, but we saw lots of different people at different locations going in all directions!
  • No “queues” at the “early locations” in the ride
  • All had a grand day out
