Health.
There is a risk of tick born encephalitis in the area around Kalmar and Öland . Vaccination is available advice and more information can be found on the UK Fit for Travel website. General health advice for travel to Sweden can be found here.

This Swedish Island paradise will be our venue for the 2018 International rally.

Finding the site by road:

Assuming you have arrived in Sweden by the Øresund Bridge follow the signs for Kalmar (E22) Then on reaching Kalmar follow the signs for Oland (E137) and cross onto the island via the Öland Bridge for motor vehicles.(Cyclists and foot passengers must use the ferry) At the end of the bridge exit right signposted Saxnas and at the roundabout go all the way round and take the exit marked Saxnas. After 2.5 Km turn left onto Sodra Saxnas(Campsite signpost) and follow this road past all the houses/chalets for approx. 1 Km. to the Krono Camping Reception.

Please note: The Kalmar Ironman Competition takes place on Saturday 18th. August. One lane of the Öland bridge to Öland will be closed from 07:00 until 15:00. There is the possibility of long tailbacks.

Alternative ways of getting there:

By Air:
Nearest airport is Kalmar(KLR) with flights from Heathrow by SAS via Stockholm-Arlanda (ARN). Kalmar airport is approximately 7 Km from the passenger ferry Södrahamnplan, Kalmar to Barkassbryggan-Farjestaden, Oland.Then 6Km from the ferry to the campsite.

By train:
20 hours from St. Pancras via Brussels,Duisburg, Hamburg, Copenhagen and Kalmar.

Chalets and Mobile Homes

We have secured a number of camping pitches for the rally but there is another event locally which means many of the Chalets and Mobile Home Caravans are likely to be booked early.

There are a great variety and there is no guarantee that any particular unit will be available. The prices shown are typical of 2017 for the rally dates.

2017 Prices Beds Chalet Description
6900 kr. 3 Detached house, 16 sqm, 3 beds (2 adults and 1 child). A room with a bunk bed where the lower bunk is 1,40m wide.
6900 kr. 4 Semi-detached house, 16 sqm, 4 beds (2 adults and 2 children). A room with 2 sofa beds and 2 fold-down over the beds. Over The beds have a maximum weight of 70 kg
6900 kr. 2 Semi-detached house, 16 square meters, 2 beds. A room with 1 sofa bed.
7500 kr. 4 Semi-Detached, 4 beds, 20sqm. One bedroom with a bunk bed and a living room with sofa bed. 
8875 kr. 4 Semi-Detached, 4 beds, 29kvm. One bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with bunk beds and a living room with kitchenette. 
8100 kr. 5 Semi-detached house with 5 beds, 24kvm. One bedroom with a bunk bed and one single bed and a living room with sofa beds.
8400 kr. 5 Semi-detached house with 5 beds, 27kvm. One bedroom with a bunk bed and one single bed and a living room with two sofa beds
7500 kr. 4 Detached house, 27 sqm, 4 beds including 1 extra low and wide. One bedroom with a bunk bed and a living room with two sofa beds.

Cycling rules in Sweden.
You will need to make sure your tandem or cycle is road-legal on arrival. Strict safety rules are enforced with big fines. All bikes must have working brakes and a functioning bell; if you’re cycling when it’s dark you’ll also need lights, as well as side reflectors. Children aged 15 and under must wear a helmet (and you should too!).
