December 2015 Report

The Christmas meal for the Taunton group started with a 20 mile ride; lots of familiar faces travelling over to us plus some new ones. 9 tandems started out and many were decorated with coloured baubles, lights and tinsel.
The route from the New Mill at Bathpool circled Taunton in a clockwise direction so that we could cut it short if the weather forecast was correct - it wasn't and we stayed dry!
Ian and Lisa led the ride and also brought up the rear at times. This meant sprinting quickly back to the front again! After 17 miles we stopped for coffee at Hestercombe House and then it was just a few miles back.
A traditional Christmas lunch was followed by a Christmas quiz organised by Lisa and then Ian awarded a trophy to the couple who had attended the most rides during the year.  Richard and Michelle Miles had been to 9 local events (often cycling to the start) plus they had cycled to the National and the International rally in the Czech Republic! What a fantastic effort! (unfortunately Michelle wasn't able to attend that day but Richard came on his solo and returned home to Minehead in the dark!) Who will win the award next year?
