Problems at Roberts framebuilders?

Is anyone able to help us? We live in NZ. Last year after reasonably extensive research we ordered a custom built frame from Roberts frame builders in Croydon. It was supposed to be our "once in a lifetime dream machine" to replace our ageing Cannondale. We wanted a stiff oversize steel frame. Mandy, the stoker, is bigger than me and rides with only 1 leg so we put various asymetrical stresses across the frame. As part of the consultation process we told them we already had wheels built around Chris King tandem hubs (145 at rear drop out) and would be transferring these to the new frame.
After 3 months (later than original promise but we were warned and expecting this) we were told bike was ready and paid in full. It then took them over 2 months to post it, despite many emails and phone calls on my part.
We now find that the distance between the rear dropouts is only 135mm. Despite many emails from us and our local bike shop we have had no response. Repeated attempts to phone always get pushed to BT callminder.
This is not the sort of service we expected form them, their reputation seemed much better. Is there something going on at Roberts we need to know about (eg are they gone bust???) Is there an alternative way of getting a response from them?
All suggestions gratefully received!
