Disc brakes on Pino

I'm coming for some advice on tandem brakes. We own a pino with rohloff hub and have some trouble braking. Some might have read our article in velovision 24...going over kirkstone pass in the lakedistrict we warped the front disc and experienced a total fade away of our brakes...Scarry.
We have 180 front and 190 mm back discs with Magura Louises. Trouble is we travel with kids, trailer and packs, estimated weight probably 220-230 kg.
We are just back from a trip in the Brecon Beacons (S. Wales), and we did it again (not warping, only fading).
After googling a little, a drag brake seems to be the solution, but we can't fit it on the Rohloff. It's not only the fading, we definitely feel we miss stopping power. Just before leaving we ordered a bigger front (disc 203 mm) to solve a part of the stopping power, but they arrived too late to still fit them.
Any suggestions? We have knobs for front rimbrakes (will put on some hydraulics) but no knobs on the seat-stays.
What do you think of Magura Gustav M's. Might they help for fading & stopping power...Looks like they are the most powerfull thing you can get.
We know there's a good part of breaking technique for discs, but sometimes you can't just let the bike roll down the hill and slow it down from time to time.
