In Response To: Viking Tarantino review (Frank)
We have just received our Viking Tarantino, ordered as a result of reading these posts. It's fifty years since we last rode a tandem. We hired a Dawes in Delamere Forest last weekend (£26.00 for three hours and worth every penny!) and on returning home bought a Viking from Amazon. Costing £370 pounds, it arrived 2 days later. Very little assembly - only snag was that the two springs on the QR skewer for the front wheel had woven themselves together - that threw me for a while! Rear wheel, all gears & brakes fitted prior to delivery. Only had to fit seats, handlebars, front wheel & mudguard. First ride round our close & minor adjustments. I'm 5'7" and would like to find some way of lowering saddle (already on its lowest setting) by an inch until I get a bit more confidence. Stoker is 5'4" and happy!
"Made in Cambodia" on the packaging, Viking Tarantino on the emblem. Oddly, my wife's first bike was an Ian Steel Viking (more than 50 years ago!)
Pensioner couple very happy! Wonderful value for money. Of course we would have liked a Cannondale or Galaxy or a Two's Day (?Folder?) but as our pockets aren't that deep this will do nicely!
