Tandem Club Discussion Board

Finding something to keep a child with severe learning difficulties occupied and really happy can be quite hard. We have found it: tandeming. My daughter started off on a tag-a-long and then when she outgrew that we moved onto a tandem. She loves riding it and she is safe on there because I have full control. We go out most summer evenings for a little ride and for longer rides at weekends. Because she loves it so much, we (the whole family) love it too.
Buying a tandem can be too much for some families and therefore I would like to set up an organisation that could lend out tandems to such families, so that they can have as much fun. I'm therefore looking for tandems out there that you don't need and that you could donate. They don't have to be performance models, just something that is safe to ride up and down the street. Once we have an offer of a tandem I will then start advertising for borrowers on this site and in suitable publications and set up a registered charity.
So, please contact me if you have anything that you could donate or let me know if there are any other similar organisations so that I might join them.
